About us

The history of the polytechnic aran orin

The polytechnic, Aran-Orin was conceived by a sole proprietor by the name Alhaji AbdulRasak Abolarin a native of Aran-Orin, Irepodun local government area of Kwara state. polytechnic was born out of the need to add value to the current state of Technical Education in the country, to furnish the youths with entrepreneurship skills required to enable them become job creators, and to create the possibility of growing the economy of the host community Aran-Orin. When the idea was conceived, it was shared with Alhaji AbdulAzeez Abolarin, an elder brother based in the United State. Encouragements were also received from other brothers like Alhaji AbdulAkeem Olawuyi, Alhaji Alimi AbdulRahman and a sister, Dr. Mrs. Toyin Ajibade. At commencement, the polytechnics is presenting two (2) Engineering Departments, two (2) Applied science Departments and one (1) Management Departments, five (5) Departments in all, namely: Computer Engineering Department, Electrical Engineering Department, Computer Science Department, Statistics Department and Business Administration Department.

Admission requirement

Business Administration

Obtain a minimum score in the UTME. Have five (5) credit passes in not more than two sittings in any of the following exams: WASSCE, SSCE, NTC, GCE (O’Level), WAEC, or NECO. The five credits must include: English Language, Economics/accounting, Mathematics, any other two social science subject.

Computer Engineering

Obtain a minimum score in the UTME. Have five (5) credit passes in not more than two sittings in any of the following exams: WASSCE, SSCE, NTC, GCE (O’Level), WAEC, or NECO. The five credits must include: English Language Mathematics Physics Chemistry One other subject from the following: Metal Work, Wood Work, Technical Drawing, Basic Electronics, Basic Electricity, Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Further Mathematics, Computer Studies, Geography, Biology, or Agricultural Science.

Computer Science

Obtain a minimum score in the UTME. Have five (5) credit passes in not more than two sittings in any of the following exams: WASSCE, SSCE, NTC, GCE (O’Level), WAEC, or NECO. The five credits must include: English Language Mathematics Physics two other subject choosen from the following: Economics or Geography,further Mathematics or Chemistry, Biology or Agriculture. A pass in Physics is compulsory for computer science.

Electrical Engineering

Obtain a minimum score in the UTME. Have five (5) credit passes in not more than two sittings in any of the following exams: WASSCE, SSCE, NTC, GCE (O’Level), WAEC, or NECO. The five credits must include: English Language Mathematics Physics Chemistry One other subject from the following: Further Mathematics or Biology

Statistics

Obtain a minimum score in the UTME. Have five (5) credit passes in not more than two sittings in any of the following exams: WASSCE, SSCE, NTC, GCE (O’Level), WAEC, or NECO. The five credits must include: English Language Mathematics Physics Chemistry One other subject from the following: Further Mathematics or Biology.
